How social media reacted to rumors about Beyonce at DNC

There was rampant speculation on social media Thursday night that there would be a mystery guest performing at the Democratic National Convention Thursday prior to Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech.
And the most of the buzz was literally started by a bee.
A bee emoji.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) of a certain insect associated with honey by White House political director Emmy Ruiz was immediately interpreted by social media users that Beyonce would be soon be in the United Center.
But apparently the rumor of music royalty was just that.
Alas, the great Queen B never appeared.
TMZ reported that Beyonce would perform at the DNC Thursday night, but there were no surprise guests with regularly scheduled recording artists Pink and The Chicks other than Pink’s daughter Willow.
Ruiz later posted that her daughter had gotten a hold of her phone, but fans weren’t about to believe that. After all, who runs the world?
Even Mitt Romney got in on the fun.
Beyonce is letting the Harris campaign to use her song “Freedom.” So it certainly made sense that the R&B and pop superstar would end up on the stage, possibly with another slightly loved musician.
But instead, it was only speculation and anticipation. Here’s a sample:
